Mr. Ibrahim Abdulaziz Seoudi was born on 14 January 1970 in the Arab Republic of Egypt. He graduated from the Faculty of Law, Cairo University, in 1991, and in January of the following year began his journey with a profession he never regarded as a mere job, but as a mission and a responsibility to defend justice and to safeguard the free legal word.
From his earliest days in the courtrooms, his work stood out for blending the depth of jurisprudence with the precision of advocacy. In 1994 he founded Seoudi Law Group, making it one of the first specialized legal entities in Egypt to provide integrated legal services in the fields of civil, criminal, commercial, and economic law.
What sets Mr. Ibrahim Abdulaziz Seoudi apart is that he is an all-round practitioner of the profession; he is equally accomplished in advocacy, writing, teaching, and training, and works with confidence and mastery across the various branches of law — criminal, civil, and administrative — alongside a firm command of the provisions of Islamic Sharia and their judicial applications. He is therefore known among his colleagues and students as one who unites jurisprudence, the pen, and the podium; he masters the art of argument as he masters the art of eloquence, and teaches law as if he were narrating the story of justice itself.
Mr. Ibrahim Seoudi has held a number of positions bridging professional and bar-association work, including: Chairman of the Arab Council for Legal Development, member of the Legal Advisory Committee of the Egyptian Bar Association, and member of the Board of Trustees of the Ragai Attia Award for the recognition and encouragement of lawyers. He previously held general supervision of the Legal Department at the General Bar Association and supervised the Bar Institute in Giza Governorate, and he has been a legal lecturer at the Bar Institute from 2001 to the present day.
Throughout his bar and professional career, he has helped enrich legal work inside and outside Egypt, serving as general coordinator of several major conferences organized by the Egyptian Bar Association — most notably the Lawyers’ Day Conference and the Conference on the Future of the Legal Profession in Egypt and the Arab World. He also took part as Egypt’s representative and spokesperson at the First Kuwaiti Legal Profession Conference organized by the Kuwaiti Lawyers Association.
Alongside his professional work, Mr. Ibrahim Seoudi has authored a number of legal works combining academic precision with practical experience, including the series “The Road to Success in the Legal Profession” — in its parts: The Mission, The Arts of Oral and Written Advocacy, and Building the Legal Personality — the book “The Legal Profession in Danger” (2015), “A Concise Guide to the Procedures before the Egyptian Criminal Courts” (2023), and his forthcoming book “The Legal Profession: From the Sole Office to the Law Firm.”
Because advocacy, for him, is an extension of thought and feeling, he brought his literary sensibility to the law, publishing two poetry collections: “The Last Poem” (1991) and “A Besieged Child” (2005) — embodying the meeting of law and poetry in the conscience of the cultured lawyer.
Through his chairmanship of the Arab Council for Legal Development and its monthly legal forum, held regularly since 2009, he has continued his mission of entrenching the values of the profession and passing on, generation after generation, the meaning of the legal profession as the lamp of justice that lights the path of truth and guides the judiciary toward the beacons of fairness.
